If you subscribe to the theory that the real football season starts when districts begin, then for most Kansas high schools, this is the last week of the preseason.
The biggest change in the polls came in 6A, where 5A #3 Salina South went to Hutchinson, and knocked off the previously top-ranked Salthawks. The loss resulted in a drop to #3 for Hutchinson.
A couple of new teams also made it into the rankings this week, with Topeka (6A), Hays (5A) Rawlins County (8M-D1) & Weskan (8M-D2) all getting added to the list.
For the fifth straight week, all five 3A teams won, and those rankings have not changed since the preseason poll. With #3 Garden Plain taking on #4 Conway Springs, it's safe to say something may change next week.
The poll will be updated every Wednesday throughout the season, so be sure to check back each week to see who's moving up, and who's moving out.
