Losing streaks were snapped and winning streaks were extended. Whether it be dominant wins or close games, this week in Kansas high school football had it all.

GWAL

Northwest dominated East 44-13 to keep the Blue Aces winless on the season. Bishop Carroll did what was expected of it and walked by South 42-0. West got another win, this time over Southeast 24-6.

Thursday – Kapaun got its first win of the year with an utter domination of North 61-0.

AVCTL

Derby held Maize scoreless in another win for the Panthers 41-0. Eisenhower drops to 1-2 on the season with a 38-8 loss to Andover. Andover Central beat Goddard by a touchdown 19-12. Maize South continues to look good on the early season with a 25-0 win over Valley Center.

McPherson got a big win over Rose Hill 33-15. Buhler was on the goal line as time expired, but Mulvane came up with a huge goal line stand to preserve the 38-34 win. El Dorado continues its rebuilding year as it lost to Winfield 35-13.

Augusta snapped its 12-game losing streak as it beat Wellington 14-6. Andale cruised by Clearwater 48-14. Collegiate again showed why it’s one of the top teams in 4A by taking down Circle 59-6.

The Vikings of Smoky Valley handed Halsted its first loss of the season29-18 in Lindsborg. Between passing and rushing, Hillsboro’s Tyler Proffitt accounted for 225 of the Trojans yards in a 28-6 win over an inconsistent Nickerson team. Hesston got off on the right foot as it scored on its opening drive. The Swathers cruised the rest of the way for a 42-9 beat down over Haven. Kingman lost to Pratt 21-6. Lyons pulled out a close one over the Black Bears of Sterling 13-12.

CPL

In a game between two solid teams, Cheney prevailed over Wichita Trinity 28-14. Garden Plain took care of business over Belle Plaine 68-20. Chaparral handed Bluestem a huge loss as the Roadrunners sped past the Lions 54-6. Conway Springs more than doubled up on Independent 48-20. Douglass squeaked out a 6-0 win over Medicine Lodge.

WAC

Garden City didn’t mess around with Great Bend in a 45-28 win Friday. The once powerful Liberal lost to Hays 51-34. 

HOA

Big wins was the theme in the Heart of America Friday. Marion won by three touchdowns over Bennington 20-0. Ell-Saline ran past Moundridge 50-6. Hutch Trinity trounced Inman 21-6.

Others

Beloit put a number that required a second glance in an 84-0 conquering of Russell. Clay Center pulled out a big win over Abilene 14-13.  The Cowboys have become quite the power in the North Central Kansas League in recent years. The Bulldogs of Madison whitewashed Hartford 52-0. Oxford racked up 265 yards Friday to beat Flint Hills 53-6.
