For the past couple years, North has never had the pleasure of saying it has beaten South on the soccer field.
On Tuesday, Apr. 1, the Redskins received the chance to say those words as they defeated their main rival 8-0 and advanced to a 3-3 record so far this season. The impressive shut out win over south, at South’s home field, has given the Skins a new-found confidence to use in the games to come.
“We had really good movement on the field. We put a lot of good passes together and our offense played really well and we also held a strong defense,” senior captain Sarah Weers said.
Sophomore Jessica Quezada stepped up to play a huge role in the win on Tuesday. She had three goals on the night. Other players that contributed goals and have been big factor players so far for the Redskins this season were found in Weers and sophomore Brooke Weakly.
“I’m very proud of how this season is going so far. As a team we are always looking to improve, play well, and get better each week,” Weers said.
The Skins next game will be against West on Apr. 12 at West, starting at 5:45 p.m.
