The goal of Memory Care is to provide a safe and secure environment with the familiar comforts of home and the supportive care of a professionally trained staff. The Memory Care Residence at the Catholic Care Center has been received certification in the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Excellence in Care Dementia Program of Distinction. This makes Catholic Care the only the fifth center in the United States to receive this designation, and the first and only in Kansas.
Read more...After Priscilla Yeakley’s father died, her mother Silvia moved in with the Yeakley family. Silvia has Alzheimer’s disease. The family was more than willing to care for Silvia, but over four years the strain of providing that care began to take a toll on everyone involved, especially Priscilla.
Read more...Second graders from Saint Catherine partnered up with our residents at their weekly bingo, giving the title to the event “Turkey Bingo.” Plenty of excitement and smiles filled the room as the children were shouting out bingo as their resident won and passing out candy to the winners. What a treat and win… win… for all. The afternoon was enjoyed by all as their principal, Betty Hunt, did a great job calling the numbers. Thanks again, friends and neighbors, for a warm afternoon.
Read more...Maize Complete School invited residents out to their annual “Turkey Feast” on Tuesday the 21st. The students prepared, served and hosted this event and did a wonderful job. The presentation of the meal and table settings added to the festive event with plenty of specialty salads and desserts. We will be sure to mark this on our calendar for a must go to event next year. Thanks, students and staff, for a great job.
