After Priscilla Yeakley’s father died, her mother Silvia moved in with the Yeakley family. Silvia has Alzheimer’s disease. The family was more than willing to care for Silvia, but over four years the strain of providing that care began to take a toll on everyone involved, especially Priscilla.

A native of Kansas, Greg most recently was the executive director of Brookdale Senior Living-Wynwood Assisted Living in Colorado Springs. Prior to that, he was the executive director for Brookdale in Shawnee, Kan. He has also held administrative positions with Manor Care in Overland Park and Medicalodge in Coffeyville.

Read more...Via Christi Village on Georgetown hosted its own version of the Kansas State Fair on Friday, Sept. 23. Residents were treated to a host of carnival games, including the toilet toss, golf hole in one, pop bottle toss, penny fling and a milk bottle toss. There was a petting zoo that featured baby goats, bunnies, chicks and ducks. The village had quilts on display. Everyone enjoyed the fair fare of cotton candy, corn dogs and lemonade.
