The Harlem Globetrotters: INTRUST Bank Arena (Casey Siebels, FetchToto.com Editor) |
From the Harlem Globetrotters Mascot “Globie” dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller to players sinking incredible 4-pointers, the Globetrotters did not disappoint anyone Friday night.
The Harlem Globetrotters, who are known worldwide for entertaining fans, returned to Wichita’s INTRUST Bank Arena on February 3rd for their 2012 World Tour, which continues touring through the end of April 2012.
The team brought a combination of basketball skills, athleticism, and comedy to the court and delighted seemingly everyone in the audience.
Players broke out routinely into theatrical performances, including dances, slam dunks with a “twist”, and hassling the opposing members of the International Elite.
The Globetrotters even brought members of the crowd out, including having a female come dance on the court in order to get her purse back (that the players took), having a little girl get a basketball spun on her finger, and letting a little boy try his luck at making a free throw with a much taller player.
Other highlights of the night included Miss Kansas’ Carissa Kelley dancing to the YMCA, having the Globetrotters throw cups of water into the crowd, and having a crazed “streaker” come run through the middle of the game.
