HARD CHARGE: One of the most intense races coming to Wichita

Get fired up Wichita…The HARD CHARGE is approaching and it not’s going to be easy. Mud, sweat and perhaps even blood are likely in store for anyone who decides to take part in one of Wichita’s most intense races ever.

The HARD CHARGE is a four-mile race on unpredictable terrain at the grounds of the Kansas Coliseum in Park City, just north of Wichita. Runners must overcome more than 20 challenging obstacles that will have them balancing, climbing, crawling, running, and of course… getting covered in mud, all while using every muscle in their body. Don’t let the intensity of the course frighten you. HARD CHARGE is meant to be a fun event for people of all fitness levels. Although challenging, it will test you and push you to the max.

The event consists of two primary heats: CHARGE for Fun and CHARGE for Glory. CHARGE for Fun (Beginners), is the heat for those looking to just have fun, without worrying about overcoming tough obstacles or competing for best times. CHARGE for Glory (Experts), is the heat for those ‘in it, to win it’. This heat will be timed and marshaled, with top individuals and teams qualifying for the final race, which will be a televised CHARGE held later in the day.

Race is on Saturday, April 20. Registration is open through Apr. 17, 2013. Early registration pricing, valid through March 23, is $74 for the CHARGE for Fun event and $94 for the CHARGE for Glory event. More Information on Televised Series

HARD CHARGE Televised Series will debut on local CBS affiliate, KWCH, June 22, 2013 at 7 p.m. with the Wichita / Park City episode. The entire series, which features all 2013 events across the U.S., will air on local CW affiliate, KSCW, throughout 2013 and into 2014.

The show focuses on the world’s fastest-growing adventure sport and the everyday competitors who race for the chance to become the HARDEST CHARGER. Each episode highlights their journeys and personal stories as they work towards competing in a race testing their courage, strength and stamina.

HARD CHARGE Wichita / Park City kicks off at 9 a.m. with the CHARGE for Glory heats, followed by CHARGE for Fun heats at 11 a.m. The Televised CHARGE begins at 3 p.m. HARD CHARGE Wichita / Park City will also feature a post-race party with music, food and beverages, located at CHARGER Village inside the Coliseum. Spectators are encouraged to watch the CHARGE and attend the post-race party; both events are open to non-participants, free of charge.
