Stockings for Soldiers sends over 300 pounds of goodies overseas

Cochran Mortuary and Crematory's 2012 Stockings for Soldiers campaign was another huge success! With the help of Beall & Mitchell Law Firm, KQAM Radio and KWCH, Cochran Mortuary was able to collect 324 pounds of stocking stuffers for our soldiers serving overseas.

"It's officially done!" Cochran office manager Brandi Phifer says. "The stockings have been sent! We sent six boxes to two units in Forward Operating Bases in Afghanistan." The stockings were full of treates, games and warm wishes from the Wichita community.

After all the donations were collected, the stockings were stuffed at North High School. "Thanks to Peggy Heim and the First Baptist Church of Maize Youth Group and Chivalry for Children for all the time and love put into each stocking," Phifer says. "And the incredible ladies of Mrs. McGinnis' class at North High School for giving their time to help stuff the stockings!"

Cochran Mortuary dedicates a lot of their time and energy to helping our soldiers throughout the year. Along with Stockings for Soldiers, they also organize Cellphones for Soldiers and participate in Wreaths Across America.
