Why you should go: The Harlem Globetrotters are bringin’ back everyone’s favorite players to the b-ball court, including Big Easy, Flight Time, Special K, Scooter, etc. But… this time there’ll be some rookies that will be bringing a brand new bag of tricks to the show!

For the first time, meet the first female player in a generation (#18 TNT), the world’s TALLEST professional basketball player at 7’8” (#55 Tiny), NCAA Slam Dunk Champion with a 50” vertical (#17 Hops).

2)      An Evening of Burlesque: High Heels and Red Noses

Why you should go: A night of entertainment and burlesque awaits you at Wichita’s Old Cowtown Museum. This will be Cowtown’s second burlesque show (the first show was held last March with two sold-out performances).

The event will feature special performances by Wichita Burlesque’s Tina Mar, Dr. Dillinger, The Notorious Roscoe, Twin Fish, Jailbait, The Ukuladees, Clara Boa, Gregor the Adequate, Guiness World Record Holder Mace Collins, and Special Guest The HotTail Honeys.




3)      Shop ‘til you Drop at the Yacht: Ladies Night Out at the Wichita Boathouse

Why you should go: Any Ladies interested in doing a little shopping this weekend? The answer is more than likely, “Heck Yea!” You’ll enjoy this event even more since the cover charge to get in is one buck!

Over 50 vendors will be selling a variety of posh products on both floors of the Wichita Boathouse (a.k.a. Kansas Sports Hall of Fame). While shopping, shoppers will get to enjoy free appetizers, desserts, beverages, and door prizes.




4)      WWE RAW World Tour

Why you should go: Watch out Wichita, the WWE Superstars are on their way back to the INTRUST Bank Arena for some crazy action.

This weekend’s event agenda includes: A faceoff between John Cena & R Truth against Kane & The Miz in a RAW Tag Team Match, a battle between Jack Swagger & Kofi Kingston for the United States Championship, and Dolph Ziggler will challenge CM Punk for the WWE Championship.

Other special appearances will include Chris Jericho, Clay, Santino Marella, Alex Riley, the WWE Divas and more.




5)      Wichita Polar Plunge

Time:  1:00 p.m.
Date: Saturday, February 4

 O.J. Watson Park, 3022 S Mclean Blvd, Wichita, KS
Cost:
“Bear” minimum of $75, individuals can register to take the plunge

Why you should go: Why not watch a bunch of daring, and slightly crazy, folks jump into icy waters in the middle of winter. The Wichita Polar Plunge & Strut (a benefit for Special Olympics Kansas athletes) will be featuring Wichita’s bravest individuals jump into the icy water at OJ Watson Park (all for a good cause of course).

The event will start off with the Polar Strut at Noon ( a 1-mile run/walk) and then follow with The Plunge which will begin at 1:00 p.m. Those who register the minimum of $75 will receive an official commerative sweatshirt.

If you aren’t really digging the cold water idea but still want to join this cause and get the cool incentives, just declare yourself “too chicken” and register online for $75.

Wichita 20th Annual Run Wichita Super Bowl Sunday Run

Why you should go: Let’s face it; you’re probably going to be consuming a lot of calories this Super Bowl Sunday. So… why not shed off some of those calories beforehand by participating in the 20th Annual Run Wichita Super Bowl Sunday Run.

The race is a four-mile certified course inside the Linwood Park Recreation Center. Runners will receive an official RUN WICHITA insulated tumbler (while supplies last).
