  15. Steampunk Day brings inventive science fiction crowd to Old Cowtown Museum

    On June 2, Old Cowtown Museum hosted Tesla and Lovecraft's Steampunk Day. Steampunk takes Victorian era science fiction and adds in some fun influences from turn of the century Barnum and Bailey carnivals. Steampunk has been around for years, but its just now making its way to Wichita. In the 1999 Will Smith movie "Wild Wild West," <a href="http://www.imdb.com/media/rm296392960/ch0008891" target="_blank">Dr. Miguelity Loveless</a> is a good example of Steampunk style.
