2012 BlackTop Nationals at Century II in downtown Wichita, Kansas (Casey Siebels, FetchToto.com Editor / August 25, 2012) |
Despite the rain this weekend, hundreds of car enthusiasts lined the streets of downtown Wichita for the 3rd Annual BlackTop Nationals Car Show.
BlackTop Nationals, which is one of the region’s largest car shows, took place on Friday, August 24 through Sunday, August 26 around Century II in downtown Wichita. This year’s car show is expected to showcase well over 600 vehicles from around the country.
The vehicles showcased in the BlackTop Nationals include vintage autos from the early 1900s to the newest muscle cars on the roads today. The show also includes different varieties of motorcycles and trucks.
Inside Century II was the “Million $ Car Display,” which was a part of the car show that featured 30 rare, high-end vehicles. While most of the BlackTop events were free, the “Million $ Car Display” required visitors to pay a $5 fee.
Other events for this year’s car show included live bands on Friday and Saturday night at Kennedy Plaza, the McPherson College Model T Touring Car, a NASCAR Simulator, Wichita on Wheels Reunion, Motorcycle Show and a Ford Motors Drag Racing Dyno Machine.
BlackTop Nationals welcomed Ford Motor Company back in 2012 as its title sponsor and feature presenter of the 3rd Annual BlackTop Nationals event.
