2012 Woofstock Fundraiser for the Kansas Humane Society

2012 Woofstock Fundraiser for the Kansas Humane Society (October 6, 2012)

Woofstock 2012 was the ulti-Mutt place to be on Saturday for thousands of local canines and their owners. The 16th annual fundraiser for the Kansas Humane Society took place Saturday, October 6, at the Sedgwick County Park in Wichita.

The pet-friendly event kicked-off with the Woofstock Walk at 9:30 AM, where owners and their pooches took a casual 1.5 mile walk around the park.

The festive dog activities continued throughout the day with a best dressed costume contest, sheep and goat herding, Ruff Races, musical chairs, water retrieval and dog training demonstrations.

The event included enjoyable activities for canine owners as well, including live music, a silent auction, food court, and a Paws & Play Kidz Zone.

Over 80 vendors were set up throughout the event offering anything and everything related to the four-legged creatures.

The money raised from the annual fundraiser will help care for the 17,000+ animals that come through the shelter’s doors every year.

General admission was a $5.00 suggested donation, however attendees were encouraged to register as an official Woofstock participant by giving $25 or more in donations.

You can always donate money to the shelter online on the Kansas Humane Society website.
