Petland releases schedule for Pet Extravaganza

Are you ready to party with your pet? Petland has released their schedule of events for the Petland Pet Extravaganza on Saturday, Oct. 6. Load up your pets and bring them down to 11333 E. Kellogg Dr. #103 for a day of fun. All proceeds from the event will go to the Kansas Food Bank.

  • 10:30am- Opening Ceremony
  • 11:00am- ACA Conformation Dog Show ($15 participation fee)
  • 1:00pm- ACA Puppy Class: Puppies under 6 months. $5 fee.
  • Jr. Handler Class: training class for kids 17 and under. This is a free training, and your dog doesn't need to be registered. (starts immediately after puppy class)
  • 1:30pm- Weenie Dog Race
  • 2:00pm- Centurion Aviaries bird seminar: breeders of Macaws, Cockatoos, Grays, Amazon, Conures and Eclectus.
  • 2:30pm- Ferret Race
  • 3:30pm- Hamster Race- prizes will be awarded to everyone who participates
  • 4:30pm- Pet Talent/Stupid Animal Tricks/Large Dog & Small Dog Contest

There will be art projects and the TNT Bunny Club all day. TNT stands for Training, Nurturing and Therapy, and was formed in Wichita in Aug. 2006.

If you want to participate in any of the races or the contest, be sure to show up a little early. There is a participation fee of $5 for each of the races. Prizes will be given out for different events. Prizes include Petland gift cards, gift cards to other local businesses and gift baskets from vendors.
