Photos: Wichita Remembers 9/11 at the Kansas Firefighters Museum
The Kansas Firefighters Museum hosted a ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, to honor the men and women who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. The ceremony was part of a simultaneous nationwide observance on 9/11. Eighty white doves were released during the ceremony to honor those who died. Each dove symbolized the soul of 37 different individuals who passed away in the terrorist attacks. A total of 343 firefighters died on September 11, 2001.
