This weekend marked the 2nd Annual National Bar-B-Derby at High Park in Derby. The community-wide event took place on Fri, September 7 through Sat, September 8 and featured BBQ vendors from across the region.
The competitive BBQ competition included several different categories including pulled pork, ribs, chicken and brisket.
For $5.00 festival goers were able to sample meat from five BBQ vendors and vote for their favorite. The BBQ vendors with the highest number of votes receives the People’s Choice Award.
Along with bar-b-que, the event also included a car show, children’s spelling bee, helicopter rides from Mel Hamilton Ford, a beer garden, 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run and music from local band favorites: Annie Up, Good ‘n Greasy and Diamond W Wranglers.
