Serving the Hungry: At Home and in Haiti

Serving the Hungry: At Home and in Haiti (February 5, 2013)

Here’s your chance to be a part of history!  KWCH Channel 12 is teaming up with Numana and Volunteer Kansas to help feed the hungry in Haiti and here locally.

On Saturday the 16th of February, the event ‘Serving the Hungry:  At Home and in Haiti’ will try to break a Guiness World record by packaging 350,000 meals in one hour for schools in Haiti. The meals will go to 800 school children in Lambert and Borde, Haiti who have not eaten lunch since September 2012.

In order to do this, your help is needed! They need 2,000 volunteers to help package the meals between Noon and 1:00 on the 16th. Please invite family and friends to join in the fun. Children are welcome.

You can sign up to take part in the "Serving the Hungry at Home and in Haiti" using the Numana or Volunteer Kansas links below.

Volunteers are asked to bring one or two canned food items to be donated to the Kansas Food Bank. The Kansas Food Bank is currently low on canned fruit.
