The Wichita Art Museum is celebrating its 77th birthday by throwing a party for all its loyal fans. The birthday bash will be held on Saturday, July 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, located at 1400 W. Museum Blvd. in Wichita.
It is free and open to the public. There will be ice cream from Hiland Dairy with toppings from the Nifty Nut House, live entertainment from the WSU Steel Drum Ensemble and special art projects to commemorate the history of the museum.
Kids will have a chance to create their own art pieces to take home. Saturday admission to the museum is also always free, so guests can take some time to tour the museum’s exhibits while enjoying the festivities.
Current exhibits include Gustave Wolff: An Impressionist Eye for New York, Visions of Mexican Art and a display from Kansas native Ed Davison.
