The 44th Wichita Black Arts Festival Association (WBAFA) was celebrated all Labor Day weekend with events at McAdams Park, located at 1329 E 13th St N, Wichita.
Saturday began with a festival parade which started at 17th and Hillside (by WSU campus) and ended at McAdams Park.
Throughout Saturday and Sunday, festival goers got to enjoy a packed schedule of events, including a car and bike show, talent competition, senior luncheon, Zumba dancing, Greek children’s village, special musical artists, shopping and dance workshops.
The will continue on Monday, with festivities that include a fashion show, hair show, battle of the bands, youth soc hop party, celebrity artist and other activities.
The button fee is $3 to enjoy the weekend long activities. The proceeds raised by the WBAFA are used to provide underprivileged members of the community opportunities to enjoy other cultural local events, such as the UMOJA Walk/Run, Health Fair and Arts in the Park.
